They operate mostly in Mumbai and cities Delhi, Gurgaon and Bengaluru, and they promise to have the best market price around. Funding for this startup was initially raised by Helion Ventures and Kalaari Capital, and the founders are in talks with the VC to start raising more to expand their business. Service professionals promise to arrive on time, and all Doormint employees go through a thorough background check with trusted services. A unique feature of Doormint is its service warranty, which promises that they will fix any mistakes or redo the service entirely if notified within a certain time frame. 3. UrbanClap
UrbanClap makes ordering services you need simple and stress-free with its website and mobile app, which is available for the Android and iPhone. UrbanClap is highly unique in that it doesn’t only provide home cleaning or repair services – it helps you to find the right professional for any service. Whether you need a professional home cleaning or someone to babysit your kids, UrbanClap lets you specify your needs and connects you with the right seller in a matter of a few hours. UrbanClap was inspired by what its founders call a “highly unorganized service market.” Founders Kanpur Varun Khaitan and Abhiraj Bhal joined forces with engineer Raghav Chandra in October 2014 and created a marketplace solution that’s one of India’s largest online service providers to date. Fixy, another home services website and Android app, focuses mostly on home repairs and cleaning and is based in Mumbai. The site was founded in early 2015 by Tufayl Merchant, a marketing professional and pitch expert, and Nabeel Merchant, Tufayl’s twin brother who is also a digital marketing expert and brand builder. The two siblings started the company in order to provide handyman and cleaning services at a price their fellow Indians could afford. Funding was provided by a startup accelerator company called VentureNursery. Fixy’s verification process for professionals doesn’t stop after the hiring process is completed; service professionals are required to provide identification to buyers as well. The buyer will be shown an ID badge that includes the professional’s name, photo, PAN number and service type. This badge is only valid when stamped by Fixy, so buyers will know the person who arrives on their doorstep is a documented employee of the company.
5. Mr. Right
Mr. Right is an on-demand service provider that, much like UrbanClap, lets you search for the service you need without having a strict focus on anything in particular. Simply type in what you’re looking for, and the search results will show you available services in your area. Mr. Right was founded in 2013 by Prashant Chaudhary and Mayank Agrawal who have been friends since childhood. The already tech-savvy duo wanted a platform that would provide clear pricing for those who needed services in an unorganized market. Mr. Right started out as a home cleaning and repair service, but the founders soon switched it to be an on-demand service after trying out different pricing models over a period of six months. Mr. Right works on both a website and mobile app, but its founders are considering axing the website and going exclusively mobile. Expansion plans are set to include Mumbai and Bangalore, although Mr. Right currently only services Delhi-NCR. Funding is being discussed with VCs, and the app is available for both iPhone and Android.
6. TImesaverz
Last, but certainly not least, is Timesaverz. Timesaverz lays claim to being India’s first on-demand home services app, which is available for both iPhone and Android as well as on its own website. Founders Debadutta Upadhyaya and Lovnish Bhatia created Timesaverz in 2013 with its focus on helping people new to cities find service professionals, as this is a daunting task if you aren’t familiar with your new area.
