As a tribute to India’s fearless daughter, this safety app has been developed in her name. A case of too late, but let’s just hope we don’t have another Nirbhaya. This app can send a distress call or emergency message to a specified contact or group in an emergency situation faced by a woman or any other individual in general.
- You just need to tap the SOS on the app for this.
- You can also mark locations as safe and unsafe depending on your experiences.
- Shake your device to send an emergency message even if the phone is locked, to a group of contacts as assigned to the SOS key.
- Users get an alert if they are in an area which has been marked potentially unsafe.
4. Himmat
This app has been launched by the Delhi police for the women in Delhi. It connects to an even better place than family and friends – the police station.
- Just register your mobile at the Delhi Police site.
- Use the OTP sent to complete your registration.
- Raise the SOS alert through the app and your location, audio and video will be transmitted to the Police Control Room.
- The nearest police is sent to help the person.
Great initiative which can be followed by other state police as well!
